A Trio of Challenges...

So, like any book lover, I have a book buying addiction. This alone is not a problem, I mean widening my collection and therefore the subjects I read about is always a good thing. The way I read my books is the difficulty; I buy say 5 books, read 2 of them and by the time I start on the third I have acquired another 5 new shiny books which seem infinitely more interesting. This leaves a lot of books on my shelves that I haven't read just because I have been distracted by others.

This year, one of my resolutions is to read more of my TBR, and another is to buy fewer books. I was looking for a challenge that incorporated both of these when I came across Project 10 Books! (found at adultishbooks)

The premise is simple: Read 10 books on your TBR and be rewarded by purchasing/acquiring one book! Hopefully this will not only motivate me to read more of my TBR (which currently stands at - eek!- 60) but also to think more carefully when choosing a book to buy.

However, I have devised my own 'sub challenge' to fit in with this. I'm currently expecting a gigantic reading list from my English teacher to help widen my reading for university. So, to prevent myself from buying every single book I challenge myself to borrow all of the books I don't already own from the list from my local library. I also aim to read at least one of these books a month! I'll post the list once I get it, and also let you know which book I will be reading each month, so feel free to read along!

The third and (luckily) final challenge is the GoodReads 50 book challenge, which I think will be a stretch for me considering I have exams this year!

What do you challenge yourself to do/read in 2015?
