Man Booker Shortlist 2015

The Man Booker Prize has always been something I have sort of followed, but not really involved myself that thoroughly in. This year however, I am taking part in a shadowing scheme, and intend to read as many of the shortlisted books as I can before the winner is announced on Tuesday 13th October.

First awarded in 1969, the Man Booker was originally open to authors from the UK and Commonwealth, the Republic of Ireland and Zimbabwe. However, since 2014 it has been open to authors from all countries - the shortlist reflects this, with two authors from each the UK and USA, one author from Jamaica and one from Nigeria.

This year the Man Booker will be judged by a panel of judges including author and academic Michel Wood,  poet, novelist and short story writer John Burnside, critic Ellah Wakatama Allfrey, literary editor Sam Leith and author Frances Osbourne.

The Shortlist:

I have already read and reviewed 'A Little Life', but look forward to reading more of the shortlist!
