5 ways to feel more productive!

We all love that feeling of waking up in the morning and feeling motivated to do whatever needs to be done, but sometimes that just doesn't happen. I'm so bad at letting the mood I wake up in dictate what I do for the rest of the day, and I've been trying really hard to find ways to make myself feel more productive when all I want to do is stay in bed.

1. Get dressed

I absolutely cannot work if I'm in my pyjamas, so getting dressed is the first stage to make me feel more productive. It sounds silly, but putting on clothes that make you feel smart and put together can totally change your mindset. Wearing something that you feel bad or slobbish in can make you feel lethargic, whereas if you wear something you could imagine wearing to work, you're more likely to feel good about yourself, and therefore get more done.

2. Put on some makeup

Kind of in the same way, I find that feeling good about the way I look can make me feel more productive. If I nail my eyeliner in the morning I feel like I can accomplish anything! It also makes a change to no-makeup and trackies days- it can make you feel like you have something to do that day, even if it is just revision.

3. Have some breakfast

Having a good breakfast can make all the difference, and by this I mean proper breakfast food like scrambled eggs or porridge. I find that having proper food in the morning puts me in a good mood, and having something other than ice cream for breakfast makes me feel like a real human who is actually capable of doing something worthwhile!

4. Read blog posts!

There are so many blogs and blog posts about everything you could ever think of. If I need to be productive with my blog, I read posts about blogging, blog growth, photography etc, and if I need to be productive with my degree, I seek posts about books and reading. Finding other people who are writing about your field can do wonders for motivation.

5. Go for a walk

Getting outside can make you feel like you've accomplished something, even if it's just walking around your local area. I always feel like if I've done one thing I can do another, so going for a walk is my go-to thing for making me feel more productive. It doesn't have to be a long walk, just a 5 minute walk to the shops can clear your head, and even having a little bit of time to focus on something other than the work you should be doing can work wonders for your mindset.

I hope these few tips have given you some ideas to make you more productive. Remember- some days are just not meant to be productive and it's okay to have an off day, or even an off week. What are your favourite ways of making yourself and being productive?
