Books I'll Never Read Tag

So it's been a while since I've posted, so I thought I'd ease myself back in with this tag from Marisa at littlespider9 on YouTube! I hope this is a bit more of a relaxed and lighthearted post, and I hope to get back to a bit more of a regular posting schedule soon!

Kind of understandably there is a lot of focus on books you want to read in the booktube and book blogging community, but we all know in our heart of hearts that there are books we'll never read! Anyway, here are my answers to this tag's questions!

1) A really hyped book you're not interested in reading?

In general I'm not a great reader of really hyped books. I find that I tend to be disappointed when I read really popular books as they never seem to fulfil the high expectations I have of them after everyone has been talking about them. One book that was really popular a couple of years ago that I don't think I'll ever read is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I'm not keen on the fandom community, i just don't really get it, which is probably one of the reasons the story line doesn't interest me! I know there are a lot of people who really love this book and it would probably be a really fun, easy going read- but I don't think it's going to make it onto my TBR list anytime soon!

2) A series you won't start/won't be finishing?

When I was younger I used to LOVE reading series. I wanted to stay in a world for as long as I could and so I would seek out series with a lot of books in them so I could do just that. Nowadays however I don't really read that many, which is a shame as I miss being completely immersed in one. However, one series that I don't think I'll ever finish is Harry Potter. I know, it's probably one of the most widely read things ever, but I just don't think i'll ever get to the end! Saying that, I read all of the books apart from the Deathly Hallows when I was about 13, then went to get the final one out of the library, only to find that they didn't have it the day I was planning to pick it up. From then, I kind of lost the enthusiasm of finishing them and 7 years later I'm still not motivated to read it. Who knows, maybe one day i'll get round to it, but I can't see it happening in the near future!

3) A classic that you're just not interested in?

This is probably the most difficult questions for me to answer on this tag, and I do love my classics and genuinely intend to read as many as I can. At the moment however, I'm not that interested in reading War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. I absolutely loved the recent BBC series of it, and to be honest I don't think I'm emotionally ready to relive the story! I really want to get to it one day, but at the moment I think I'll pass!

4) Any genres you never read?

Definitely horror or supernatural books. I'm so easily scared so I honestly don't think I could handle reading about ghosts, axe murderers or something like that. Apart from that I tend to avoid romance novels as i find them a little cliche and boring on the whole.

5) A book on your shelves you'll probably never actually read?

I think this is proably 'The Simarillion' by J R R Tolkien. I've never read any of the Lord of the Rings series, so this really isn't something I'm that interested in. Maybe one day I'll read them, and will then feel inclined to pick this up- but for the moment it'll be staying firmly on my shelf.

If you absolutely love any of the books I've mentioned- please let me know! I'm always open to having my opinion changed on something! Which books do you think you'll never read?
