About

Hi, I'm Eleanor, I'm 19, and I'm currently studying English Literature in St Andrews, Scotland.

I've been an avid reader for most of my life, I can even remember the first book I read on my own; it was Beatrix Potter's 'Peter Rabbit' and I absolutely loved it. From there, my reading tastes and ability grew. I really enjoyed Jacqueline Wilson's books, especially 'The Lottie Project' and 'The Illustrated Mum', as well as Lemony Snicket's 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' although I do have to admit, I've never been a fan of Harry Potter.

I owe a lot of my love for books to my parents, who read me a lot of things that I couldn't read myself, my mum reading Dickens' 'Great Expectations' my dad Rushdie's 'Haroun and the Sea of Stories and HG Wells' 'The Time Machine' (leading to me getting into trouble at school for arguing with a teacher about the possibility of time being the 4th dimension!)

Nowadays, my favourite books include Jane Eyre, 1984, We Need To Talk About Kevin and The Book Thief.

This blog is a place for me to collate the opinions I have on various forms of literature, as well as (hopefully) recommending some of my favourite pieces to other people, and inspiring others to pick up a book! I'd really love to hear from you if you have any advice (positive or negative), opinions or things you'd like to see on my blog, so don't hesitate to contact me, or follow me on various social media platforms.

Eleanor x
